Spa Attendant Newport Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina

General Job Requirements:

Gurney's Newport offers 257 guestrooms and more event space than any other property in Newport. Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina is a popular destination for all sorts of stylish business and social gatherings, as well as truly memorable weddings. Our expansive grounds offer 360-degree water views, providing an ideal setting for our fine restaurant overlooking Newport Harbor, lounge with wraparound deck, full-service spa, and outdoor saltwater pool.

BASIC PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for providing an excellent level of service maintained to our guest/member and exceed in productivity and cleanliness standards while ensuring these are maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet and interact with guests
  • Provide guest with tour of Spa facilities
  • Escort guest to a locker with, locker key, robe, towels and slippers
  • Attendants must verify that all facilities are maintained and in working order
  • Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms
  • Maintain the facility in sanitary condition at all times
  • Fold and restock linen
  • Stock locker room supplies and amenities and maintain accurate supply lists and inventory sheets.
  • Supply guests/members with amenities while monitoring the assignment standard and maintenance of locker, linens, treatment and Fitness Center area
  • Review guest appointment/schedules as needed.
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Clean areas throughout the Spa (pavilions, steam rooms, saunas, roman bath pool deck, lobby, offices, salon, message rooms, Fitness Facilities, Fitness Center, etc.) as directed
  • Make sure towels, sheets and robes are delivered to the laundry and picked up for Spa and salon use in a timely manner
  • Stock operational supplies as needed
  • Wash, dry, fold and restock linen(towels, sheets, face covers, etc.,)
  • Assist massages therapists and body therapists and all salon personnel by supplying according folded linen.
  • Clean shower walls, shower floors, glass doors, and all chrome fittings in showers, mirrors, sinks and counter tops
  • Empty trash in all Spa areas (replace liners) and clean restrooms
  • Clean all mirrors, inside of windows, wipe and dust all surfaces
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Clean around the fitness machines, the wooded table, light switches, thermostats, and all wall mirrors.
  • Clean Fitness Studio (yoga bins, light fixtures, mirrors, air vents, and stereo equipment)
  • Clean and verify floors/baseboards are spotless (especially in corners)
  • Clean and verify all metal shiny/free of fingerprints, smudges
  • Clean and and verify sinks are shiny and free of dried water residue
  • Clean and verify HVAC vents
  • Verify all lights are on and working
  • Vacuum (floor & carpets); sweep and mop floors
  • Remove marks from walls and wax from carpets
  • Dust off wall shelves, hi dust walls and ledges
  • Verify and clean lockers always after use
  • Provide continuous guest service in anticipation of guests' needs
  • Verify Spa and Fitness Center equipment are working properly. Any repair needs are noted and reported to management
  • Answering any questions, responding to requests and helping guest get acclimated to the spa
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
  • Report any injuries, safety issues or guest incidents to a manager within a timely manner
  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
  • To understand that work schedules change according to business demands at the discretion of management, and to adhere to assigned work schedules at all times
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • To attend all mandatory spa and hotel meetings
  • To attend all mandatory spa training sessions
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Spa Management

Education Requirements:.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent recommended but not mandatory. Must be able to communicate in English
  • Experience: Housekeeping experience not required, but helpful.
  • Skills and Abilities: Adequate spoken and written English. Ability to multi-task. Professional, flexible and positive attitude
